Introduction

The Advanced PCM Data Brick offers instrumentation and telemetry engineers a combination of high performance variable rate PCM bit synchronization and decommutation power that exceeds the requirements of IRIG-106 Chapter 4 (Classes 1 and 2) and Chapter 8 standards. It provides the flexibility of a high-speed USB V2.0 I/O port in an affordable, compact, and rugged package, and excels in harsh noise environments, thereby providing support for signal-to-noise performance and operational flexibility.

This Data Brick represents a breakthrough in portable PCM processing functionality. By simply connecting it to a commercial PC USB port, you have at your command an integrated PCM processing front-end solution. Ease of USB integration, ample bandwidth with USB-1 and USB-2, and robust error handling protocols make the Advanced PCM Data Brick an excellent solution for flight-line, rugged airborne, and laboratory environment PCM stream data check-out and processing. Telemetry and Data Systems’ patented bit synchronizer phase-lock loop and tracking features equal the performance levels of modern ground station solutions at a fraction of the cost.

Occupying only a small 3.5-inch by 9-inch footprint, this Data Brick can be coupled with any of our flight-line, quick-look processing, instrumentation set-up, and/or ground station processing software products to provide a best-value solution for system engineers and integrators. Additional BNC connections for data and clock I/O maximize the flexible utility for PCM stream processing.
