Flexible and Functional. OMEGA for Windows is one of the most flexible and functional data analysis products available to date. Built-in data analysis tools include a package with standard algorithm and derived parameter processing, stripchart and archive viewer displays with report generation, and utilities that support data access and analysis using third-party software. Spreadsheets can be used to analyze data, or structured query language (SQL) can be used to access data for analysis by third-party hardware. The utilities allow direct access to both raw native archive files and raw IRIG-106 Chapter 10 formats for data reprocessing and display.

Export and Analysis. OMEGA for Windows’ export utilities provide access to parameters selected from archived files over a selected time slice and offer the option to create an OMEGA for Windows compatible subset file. An additional feature enables users to access data from an archived file and to export it to an ASCII file or to an Excel spreadsheet. Microsoft Excel includes several tools for data manipulation and analysis including statistical analysis, spectral analysis, and Fast-Fourier Transform (FFT) processing. One of the most significant features of OMEGA for Windows is that through these utilities, the data extracted from archive files becomes portable. This means that formatted information can be transported to any PC for individual analysis—even a PC that does not have OMEGA for Windows installed.

Viewing Data. The data viewing utility allows for post-acquisition analysis, which gives users the ability to parse data files based on major or minor frame, parameter(s), data type, or stream. Page forward and page backward buttons enable users to quickly scan archived files.

OMEGA for Windows provides a choice of formats in which to view data and includes a frame-oriented status word to validate the integrity of the data file during every frame time.
