Wyle Information Systems provided support, development, and maintenance functions for the Office of the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO’s) Central Web Services Team. Providing web page development, content reviews, and training in support of Glenn Research Center (GRC) information hosted in the NASA Public Portal infrastructure, Wyle developed and maintains a variety of web sites for several GRC Divisions and Programs such as the Ultra-Efficient Engine Technology.
Through the Space and Earth Sciences Data Analysis (SESDA) II Program, Wyle staff developed and operates the NASA Global Change Master Directory, one of NASA’s most accessed data portals, averaging five million hits per month. Regularly attending NASA webmaster meetings and conferences that address guidelines for accessibility compliance and web standards.
Wyle Information Systems has successfully developed, maintained, and implemented IT solutions for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for more than a dozen web sites and applications. Monitor various tracking systems that provide valuable data and services to stakeholders and the general public, Wyle also formulated and implemented a rigorous web content workflow to institute quality assurance and control.
As the technical lead for developing NWS-wide standards for web pages, Wyle programmers created and designed a standard format for all NWS web pages comprised of five components: common banner, left-hand menu structure, similar map interface, local forecast information page, and a common footer with links. Using Dreamweaver 4, Fireworks, PhotoShop, ArcView, JavaScript, HTML, and XML for this task, Wyle staff provide support for developing, maintaining, and/or sustaining web portals, sites and web farms that support data dissemination of NWS data products.
