The Wyle Information Systems Cyber Security solution for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) covered security awareness training among the IT users and system administrators.
To support the initial worldwide installation and ongoing system upgrades on the U.S. Air Force Contracting Information Systems (AFCIS) Standard Procurement System (SPS), Wyle Information Systems designed a mobile SPS training kit for sites that do not have on-site training facilities. The SPS training kit included 25 notebook clients configured to communicate with one SPS Database Server across a network to simulate an SPS client/server environment. Seven Air Force kits were successfully deployed around the world. Seeing the success of the Air Force program, the Army and Navy also followed suit using Wyle specifications and procedures. The AFCIS regularly brings System Administrator (SA) personnel from SPS sites to AFCIS-Gunter to conduct System Administrator Confidence Courses. Wyle personnel teach the Remote Database Administrator (RDBA) and Systems Engineer (SE) portions of the SA Confidence Course. The RDBA portion includes data protection tips and techniques, a review of the trouble ticket process, and a review of system security requirements. The SE portion includes basic server maintenance and monitoring, tape backup hardware/software monitoring, contingency procedures and known server hardware issues.
