Habitability Design

The Habitability Design Center is the creative force behind the Habitability and Human Factors Branch at NASA Johnson Space Center.

Wyle contract personnel provide advanced design concepts to the NASA community using human-factors as a design tool to promote human-centered processes, systems, architecture, and products. By focusing on the needs of humans Habitability Design Center creates and aids in designs that revolve around safety and human productivity--resulting in overall mission success.

The Habitability Design Center sees opportunities for design to minimize the unique challenges created by living and working in space. From addressing safety and standards to comfort through design, HDC has worked on a variety of projects including:

  • Wireless Crew Communications Development- Handset Design
  • Stowage Concept Development
  • Return to Flight Modeling and Graphics
  • Design and Fabrication for SF3 Labs
  • Volumetric Mock-ups and Design Evaluation
